We hate ‘em, we’ll never stop hating ‘em, and we won’t stop calling places out when they “adjust” (read: increase) them without adjusting what’s included.
So we did a little air punching (different from fist-pumping, honest) when we read this story over at East Coast Gambler, about a TI guest who fought the resort fee, and won.
The full story is here at Elliott.org, but in a nutshell, the guy – one George Lilley - booked over the phone, and wasn’t informed of the fee until checking in.
Las Vegas: Cowboy, Take Us Away...From Gilley's

Many folks have long-awaited Gilley's return to the Strip inside Treasure Island so we wanted to check it out as soon as we possibly could. But perhaps we should have waited a little longer.
We entered Gilley's through an unmarked entrance off the casino floor at TI which brought us directly to The Saloon where the line dancing, bull-riding and beer-drinking happens. Yet instead of the hoe-down we were expecting, we found a smattering of folk hanging around the bars. The bull was looking forlorn

Las Vegas: Mount Up! Gilley's To Open April 15

Or perhaps he mistook a five for a three because according to the bar's own website, April 15 is their grand opening night with performances by the band, Austin's Law. But downing cold ones and listening to country rock are just the tip of the manure patch for all the things you can do at Gilley's.

We're still waiting on word as to what exactly PBR stands for but we're thinking it's got to something to do with Professional Bull Riders. And if that ends up being true, we just might have a showdown on the Strip for the best mechanical bull riding hangout.
That's because Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall and Bar-B-Que is set to open on April 16, according to Fox 5. The space will open next to the Siren's Cove and it recently held a job fair which is very promising news.
