VegasChatter Loves The 90s: 5 Acts We Want to See in Vegas

October 30, 2009 at 5:46 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

With Vanilla Ice performing tonight at Studio 54 at MGM Grand, our hypothesis that The 90s Are Back has pretty much been proven, whether you like it or not. Yet, we've only been able to get excited about a handful of these blasts from the pasts. Vanilla Ice, Offspring, LIVE and Spin Doctors do not get us excited to hit up the clubs and party.

So pay close attention Vegas club promoters and entertainment directors. We've put together a list of Five 90s Acts That We WANT to See in Vegas in the upcoming months.

Our criteria was simple: they had to have been hot in the 90s and they had to have faded out of the public eye for a while. For example, New Edition with Bobby Brown doesn't count. Neither does anyone on Dancing with The Stars. Got your own suggestions for 90s acts that you wanna see in Vegas? Put 'em in comments below.

Five Acts From the 90s That We WANT to See in Vegas

1. Kris Kross: Sure they may not be as cute as they were in 1992 but we would happily put on our old Cross Colors overalls backwards to listen to Daddy Mack and Mack Daddy "Jump" again.

2. The Proclaimers: We honestly don't know any other songs that these oddball twins put out aside from "(And I Would Walk) 500 Miles" and "Constantinople" but we think paired up with the guys from Go West who sang King of Wishful Thinking from the "Pretty Woman" soundtrack, we could all revisit about our killer 90s dance moves.

3. Bell Biv DeVoe: C'mon "Poison" is a classic. So is "Do Me." If Boyz II Men can put together a reunion show in Vegas then BBD certainly can. Just as long as the kids from Another Bad Creation can sing "Iesha." Go Ro-ro, Go Ro-ro!

4. Jon Secada: Whether you hated or loved Jon Secada, he was in constant rotation on the pop charts in the early 90s. In fact, we bet you've found yourself recently humming, "Just Another Day" and wondered what the f*ck it was. If club promoters are skeptical about how much of a crowd he would draw, you could probably pair him up with his old friend, Gloria Estefan.

5. En Vogue: Before there was Destiny's Child, there was En Vogue who were way sassier than Beyonce and friends. Hits like "Free Your Mind" and "Whatta Man" were huge hits. Having them perform here will allow us to get back to basics with girl power. And maybe they could have the girls from Expose open up for them too.

Note to managers/agents for the acts listed above: If you do get a booking in Vegas because of this list, no need to thank us. Just send us 10 percent of the check.
