We admit, we were styled out with VIP Box Seats right next to the stage – Paris Hilton, Doug Reinhardt, Howard Stern, Beth Ostrofsky, Carson Kressley and Vanessa Minnillo’s nearby seats weren’t even as good. Paris was rocking her headband fetish, Vanessa clearly wasn’t wearing a bra and Beth was clad in a silver sequined shift. And apparently, Paris is working on a new album inspired by Minogue. Of course she is. But the center of the evening’s attraction was Minogue’s incredible costuming and theatrical dance numbers.
Any concert that starts with the star being lowered onto the stage via a giant metallic skull can only mean good things. In a truly spectacular pop culture meets fashion collaboration, Miz Minogue wore several futuristic pieces from renowned designer, Jean Paul Gaultier’s Autumn/Winter 2009/10 collection. Reportedly, she picked out the outfits out during Paris Fashion Week in July. Her buff (and scantily clad) male back-up dancers provide more eye-candy than any straight woman should ever have to endure. Meow.
Minogue may be a far cry from Madonna. For one, she seems a helluva lot sweeter (check out here when she brings a baby up on stage during Saturday night’s show). We think her voice may be the weakest component of her production (kinda on the thin side) but for for the Saturday night entertainment factor, we were shocked just how much we were wowed by her show. So much in fact, we stayed until the very last song of the encore.
