Motley Cru: It's Beaujolais Nouveau Season at Paris

C’est si bon! Right on schedule, Beaujolais Nouveau is set for its annual Thursday of November release and like good wine swilling Francophiles, Paris Las Vegas is hosting its 3rd Annual Beaujolais Nouveau Festival, November 18-22.

For the amateur oenophiles, the region of Beaujolais is a 34-mile stretch long from north to south, spanning 7 to 9 miles wide, just north of Lyon. All the grapes in the Beaujolais region are picked by hand, and only Gamay grapes are made into Beaujolais Nouveau. Enough of the tutorial; let’s get to the good stuff – as in how you can imbibe some of the grapey good stuff.

Here’s the line up of events:

Wednesday, November 18 3 p.m. Celebrate old world tradition as Paris Las Vegas kicks off Beaujolais Nouveau season by grape stomping in its harvest-themed patio.

Thursday, November 19 through Saturday, November 21 12-6 p.m. Sample Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau wines at the lobby bar.

Thursday, November 19 7-9 p.m. Wine 101: Passport to Wine. Take a sensory tour of the highlights of Paris, France, while mixing and mingling and sipping a selection of Georges Duboeuf wines accompanied by an assortment of decadent desserts. Tickets are $35 and available by booking a special room package on www.gayparislasvegas.com or at the Paris box office.

Friday, November 20 7-10 p.m. Rock 'n' Roll Wine – part wine tasting, part concert. Tickets are available at www.rnrwine.com.

Saturday, November 21 2-4 p.m. Wine 101: Celebrate the Harvest. Sniff, swirl and sip the wines of Georges Duboeuf accompanied by an assortment of artisan cheeses and breads and fresh fruits. Tickets are $35.

Sunday, November 22 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beaujolais Nouveau Sterling Brunch. Receive a bottle of 2009 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau and commemorative glasses for two. Beaujolais inspired brunch offerings are also available at Mon Ami Gabi.
