The Wait is Over as We Go Inside a Room at Aria Resort and Casino

We spent yesterday inside the new Aria Resort and Casino at CityCenter in Las Vegas and we were fortunate enough to get a room tour before it officially opened to the public.

This video here is a room on the 39th floor in the Aria Sky Suites towers, which has its own entrance, round-trip transfers from the airport and other personalized services a la MGM Grand Skylofts or Hotel32 at The Monte Carlo.

But a hotel rep assured us that all standard rooms in Aria look just like this one, including that wall of glass with killer views.

Another cool thing about these rooms is the Control4 technology that controls the room lighting, temperature, shades, music and the TV from a control panel on the nightstand. We've seen these panels in luxury hotels before and they are also found in the MGM Grand Skylofts, Hotel32 and the new Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas. But never before have we seen a hotel that would trust this type of technology to an average casino hotel guest. So we'll see how the wear and tear goes here.

Aria rooms are not as big as say the Venetian or the Wynn or even The Mirage but they are pretty and new and for all that you get, rooms are a steal at $169 (or less) a night. Room rates look "healthier" in January, upwards of $250, but we don't think that will last long.

    Hmmm

Kind of blah...I think they are just to big to focus on quality. If this is a "sky suite" I would hate to see a standard room. Planet Hollywood has rooms of similar quality with more style for $89 and that includes a btl of spirits in the room!

    It's a standard room

in the Sky Suites wing but standard rooms in the regular wing will also look like this. I think the best part is the glass wall. But you can get bigger rooms at Vdara for not much more.
