Dunkin' Donuts for Homesick East Coasters

When we moved to Los Angeles a while back, we were totally blinded by the celeb-faved Coffee Bean for the first few months. If the ice blendeds were good enough for Britney, then they were good enough for us. But after these frequent caloric binges, we really just wanted some plain (affordable) Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Iced with skim milk and a little bit of sugar. Oh and a dozen munchkins too.

Sadly, there are no Dunkin' Donuts in California these days. While the cast of "The Office" is trying to lobby the powers that be at DD, the closet Dunkin' Donuts for Californians can be found in the Las Vegas Valley where the first of 18 stores opened in late 2007.

There's a Dunkin' on 4125 S. Eastern Ave, Flamingo Eastern Plaza about three miles from the Strip. We mapped it out on Google Maps and it's about an 8 minute ride. If you are flying into Vegas and sans your own car, according to the taxi cab rates, the DD run will cost you about $10.50 one-way.

What would be better? Making friends with a Vegas local who can give you a ride. Or better yet, having said Vegas friend fetch you your iced coffee and munchkins and bring them back to you poolside. Ahhhh.

    ALSO

    There is a dunkin donuts downtown (200 Fremont Street), so in between Fremont Experience shows, you can grab a coolada and munchkin!

    Coffee Bean

    I'm with you on Dunkin' Donuts - we don't have them here in Oregon either. One good thing about Coffee Bean, though, is they have free Wi-Fi at their locations on the Strip. I often sit outside the one in the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile Shops and use the Wi-Fi without even paying the outrageous coffee prices.

    ahh. I miss DD

    I've been in the LA area for 5 days so far.. No DD.. Oodles of Starbucks. but no DD. Cmon DD - come to Cali!!
