Marisa Miller To Kick Off Mirage's 20th Anniversary Celebrations

On hand to blow out the candles for the Mirage’s big day next Friday will be Sports Illustrated cover model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Marisa Miller. She’s hosting a series of birthday events at the two-decade-old resort that ushered in the era of the Vegas megaresort way back when in 1989.

Today, the Mirage barely resembles its original self. It still has oldies and goodies like the Secret Garden of Siegfried & Roy and the tropical foliage-filled atrium just off the hotel valet entrance, but its slate of restaurants, lounges and even its pool area have undergone sweeping transformations.

In honor of the big occasion, Miller will be making 20th anniversary appearances throughout the day at some of the Mirage’s hippest hotspots. At 2 pm, she’s scheduled to be at the BARE Pool Lounge where bikini tops are optional. Fortunately for Ms. Miller, the temperature is supposed to break 60 today, unlike the last couple of unseasonably cool days. It actually snowed (?!!!?!) yesterday in some parts of town. Seriously, people. This is Vegas. What gives?

At 5 pm, she’ll me mixing her own signature rum cocktails at the spanking-new RHUMBAR before moving on to the Mirage’s resident nightclub JET at 11:30 p.m. to host the late-night anniversary shindig.

According to the Mirage’s Web site, Miller’s appearance is just the kickoff of the 20th anniversary celebration, which will culminate with yet-to-be-announced activities on the official anniversary date, November 22, 2009. So stay tuned.
