A Vegas nightmare: Only ethernet internet connection for $13.95 a day.

You can log on to the Internet from nearly any hotel room in Las Vegas, but, like the late homecoming and far-too-many free cocktails of the night before, it’s gonna cost you (Prices start at $10.99 and go way up).

Thankfully, there are several places you can go in Vegas for Free WiFi like the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations, Maryland Parkway or Lake Mead Blvd., all area Panera Bread stores and Buffalo Wild Wing locations, the four It’s a Grind coffee houses in town, and the three Krispy Kremes.

Even better, there are a few places you can head off to that are right on the Strip. Here are a couple of places that we like.

· Apple Store at Fashion Show Mall
The Apple Store is like porn for Mac fans. The place is filled with bright, shiny flat panel desktops and paper-thin laptops, iPhones and iTouches, and…whew, is it hot in here? Even if you’re not an Applephile, you’re bound to be amazed by all the doo-dads. And, they’ll let you play on the Internet for free—even if you’re a PC.

· ESPN Zone at New York New York
And then there’s the sports fan’s porn palace. A sports bar on steroids, ESPN Zone offers 165 TVs, (including some in the bathroom, in case you have to pee during an important play), The Screening Room, with two 14-foot screens, 12 video monitors surrounding it, and tiered seating, a bunch ‘o sports-themed games, and a restaurant. And the free WiFi means you can actually leave your room and still keep your edge in fantasy football.

· Sugar & Ice at Wynn
Burgers, sammies, house-made ice cream and sorbet, a patio with a waterfall view, AND free WiFi? Get. Out. Of. Our. Way.

· The Food Courts at The Venetian: The food court at the Venetian, near the Phantom of the Opera theater and the Food Court in the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes near the Coffee Bean. It was a little slow but free nonetheless.

· McDonald's Near Circus Circus: The new flashier look of McDonald's also has free WiFi but we've heard the signal is pretty weak.

· Whole Foods at Town Square: The store has free and fast WiFi AND outlets on the wall under the tables at the booths that line the front of the store.
