Caesars Garden of the Gods Pool Area Now Half-Open

Major renovations have been afoot at Caesars since last fall. The big question is how on track are those renovations and how does the current state of construction effect your ability to bask in the sun at the Caesar's pool?

The Octavius Tower looks complete from the outside, however the project has been put on hold due to the "soft economy." But those in the know claim that the tower's interior can be made fully operational in "under three months", thus once tourists return to Vegas en mass the tower should open quickly.

Meanwhile, Casears is getting set to open the next stage of their Garden of the Gods pool complex, which, if on site signage is to be believed, will open this summer. The latest pool update? Two of the four planned new pools are open. Temple Pool, which was closed in November 2008, is now reopened and looks great. Venus Pool (the topless, pay-for-a-seat pool) remained open throughout the construction, and at least one of the two remaining pools looks just a week or two away from opening.

Keep in mind, while the Temple pool looks great, it does feel a bit cramped in the pool area because pool renovations are still very much ongoing. For instance, getting over to Snackus Maximus is a bit of a pool chair obstacle course. Expect cramped conditions to continue until the Garden of the Gods renovations are completely finished, most likely by June.

Surrounding the new pools will be three giant pool villas (more than 10,000 square feet each) No word on who will be able to afford these mansions-by-the-pool, which will come with personal butlers and private terraces, but our guess is those manses may also be put on hold as well.
