While we're still waiting to hear whether or not the cheftestants for Top Chef Season 6 will be filming at the M Resort soon, we did find this very interesting tweet on Twitter form JonERIKK who writes:
I ran into the contestants of Top Chef: Las Vegas today. They were filming in Mandalay at Aureole.
Aureole is helmed by celeb chef Charlie Palmer and it serves "Progressive American Cuisine." The original Aureole opened in New York but the Las Vegas restaurant has earned its due, winning a Michelin Star in 2008 and 2009 as well as receiving four stars from the 2009 Mobil Travel Guide.
Yet Aureole is here is most famous for its 42-foot wine tower that holds 9,865 bottles in a plexiglass structure that is climate-controlled at 55 degrees Farenheit with 70 percent humidity.
Perhaps attempting to be a "wine angel"--a wine steward who is mechanically hoisted up the wine tower to retrieve bottles--is part of one of the Top Chef challenges. We sure hope so.
