Does the concept work? Aside from the stripper-connection, the Sapphire Pool is similar to the other adult pools in town. Seven cabanas, starting at $500, come complete with a personal host, TV and refrigerator. If you’re looking to save your money for a night out instead of at the pool, consider getting one of the 12 Sapphire Pool daybeds for $200. Located poolside with an adjustable umbrella, it’s not full-on pampering, but it beats sweating it out on a pool chair.
You can also take in the pool’s scenery from padded lounge chairs (we’re talking about the three cascading waterfalls at the pool, not the other guests', ahem, assets) that are scattered about, or from one of two Jacuzzis.
Drinks and Top 40/hip-hop hits rule the scene. Try a build-your-own mojito or a Caipirinha You might need a few of those for the courage to lose your top like the rest of the guests. On and we almost forgot. Yes, there are stripper poles here. There in the back of the pool area which is sectioned off so guests can sunbathe topless.
While it's typical for men to have to pay an entrance fee to these adult pools, we're sort of taken aback that the Sapphire would also charge an entrance fee of $10 for women. Men still get the shaft having to pay $30 on weekdays, $50 on weekends and $60 on holidays.
The Sapphire pool is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For cabana and daybed rental, call (702) 777-7709.
