'Bloodless Bullfighting' Coming to South Point Casino This September

A storied tradition south of the border and in many countries around the world, bloodless bullfighting courtesy of Don Bull Productions will come to Las Vegas in celebration of Mexican Independence Day at the South Point Hotel & Casino on September 14.
Starting with the inaugural Fiestas Patrias at the South Point Arena, spectators will be able to watch the best bullfighters or toreros from around the globe performing some fancy footwork and quick moves as they dance around the bulls. Using specially designed adhesive Velcro pads instead of traditional banderillas, rejones and steel harpoons (we're having some trouble envisioning this ensemble), competitors are able to keep the toros, thrill and skill of traditional bullfighting intact.
On the start of Fiesta Patrias, bullfighers
including Eulalio Lopez “El Zotoluco”, Alejandro Amaya and Julio Benitez “El Cordobes" are expected to appear. The next day, rejoneadors (horseback bullfighters) such as Antonio Domecq, Rui Fernandes, and Jorge Hernandez Garate will appear as well as two group exhibitions featuring Forcados de Turlock and Forcados de Mazatlan.
The festivities will return to Vegas again on September 27 for four more days of "fun" when the Grand Bullfighting Cartel comes to town. More bullfighters from Spain and Portugal are expected to show.
Tickets to Fiesta Patrias start at just $60 and can be purchased by calling (702) 797-8055 or by visiting Toro Las Vegas. VIP tables and seating are also available with pricing ranging from $375 to $550.
