Three Pool Parties You Shouldn't Miss in Vegas

With summer pool season at full tilt frenzy, a lot of folks don’t want to hassle with the crowds at the pool parties on Friday and Saturday. Instead, book a late Saturday night flight into Sin City and plan to pool-hop on Sunday, when the experience (with the exception of Hard Rock’s Rehab Sundays, according to our insider) is just as good. Sunday pool parties are usually filled with more local industry folk (read: notorious late risers), so if your bikini clad bod arrives before noon or 1 p.m. you should be golden and get right in.

But most of us Vegas visitors can only take off to Sin City for the weekends. Don't worry, we've still got you covered. If you can't decide amongst which pool party is best for you, we consulted a Vegas insider for three pool parties you just can't miss.

Three Pool Parties You Shouldn't Miss:

1. Our Insider says: Wet Republic at MGM Grand easily takes the top spot (above.) This pool has it all, great setup, killer crowd, amazing music and a heap of celebrities. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy day life and you can treat it like being at a nightclub during the day. The cocktails are also fabulous and the cocktail servers are gorgeous.
The scoop: Expect high-octane cocktails (try the watermelon mojito), Ed Hardy swimwear, 6-pack abs and a saltwater pool at this tucked-away haven at MGM Grand.

2. Our Insider says: Ditch Fridays at Palms Pool & Bungalows. There is always a good scene at the Palms pool and Ditch Fridays is the prime place to be. Tons of cabanas, three pools and lots of eye candy, the party tends to lead straight into a fun Friday night out at one of the four clubs housed at the Palms.
The scoop: Expect plasma TVs in the 27 VIP cabanas, a celebrity host, and free lounge chairs on a first-come, first-serve basis (during Ditch Fridays).

3. Our Insider says: Mandalay Bay Beach at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino is a great place to relax and spend the day. From the beach (with 2,700 tons of real sand) and the lazy river (rent an inner tube) to the three story beachside casino, this pool has it all.
The scoop: Expect acts like Joss Stone and Ziggy Marley during the summer Beach Concert Series, 100 rentable cabanas, beachside casino, and $10 half-pound Kobe cheeseburgers at the snack bar.

    #4 of course

You forgot #4, the best of them all (and my reality unfortunately)...burnt hot dogs off a crusty grill from 1984, a moldy blow-up pool, a bright orange nylon lawn chair and a mother nagging you to re-apply the SPF 75 sunscreen that still hasn't even soaked in from its first coat...now that's my kind of pool party. Did I mention for an extra $5 they can throw in the hose?

    hey philadelphiaguy

I'm originally from the Philly area, and gawd, I miss East coast, tell-it-like-it-is sass. Your only omission: a cold Yuengling.
