For The Best Last Minute Deal at The Bellagio, Call The Hotel

We're sure many of you plan out your Vegas trips way in advance but we've always gotta leave room for the folks who decide on a whim to head out to Sin City in search of luck, love, money and good times. Every so often, we'll check in on last minute rates at hotels in town and see how much they are going for--whether you phone in a rezzie, book it online through the hotel or hit up another travel booking site.

Today we're starting with The Bellagio.

Hotel Website: The hotel's website had deluxe rooms available starting at $259 for both nights. However, when we went to publish this story rates had climbed to $299 a night. So make sure to book earlier in the day on Fridays. Other larger suites were also available starting at $329 a night.

Reservations Line: Taking a cue from our older sister HotelChatter we decided to call the hotel's reservations line and ask how much the rooms were going for. They quoted us a rate of $239 for tonight (Friday) but said they were sold out on Saturday night. Interesting, isn't it? Their rate for tonight was cheaper than the website stated but they had no availability on Saturday? Something doesn't compute. If you're serious about booking a room, tell the reservations agent, availability is listed online and they'll get you that room.

Another Travel Site: This time we checked in with Expedia and it was a total dud. Aside from our extreme dislike of Expedia's customer service hotline, we find their prices aren't even all that great. They were charging $259 for Friday night and $359 for Saturday night--a full $100 (make that now $60) more than the Bellagio itself.

Bottom Line: Call the reservations line. The price might be slightly cheaper than what it says on the hotel's website. And remember if they say no availability on Saturday night, simply tell them that their website is showing rooms are open.
