Anyway, what can we expect from this highly credentialed Cirque novice’s Elvis show? Paterson describes it as, more or less, an “abstract biography of Elvis Presley” that utilizes “acting moments spoken in English” – a first for a Cirque du Soleil show. In the Web clip, he goes on to explain the show explores Elvis’ relationships with the people in his life – his mother, his manager – and that the audience will get to see the “sexy,” “bold” and “funny” sides of The King.
No clue as to what the costumes will look like yet (surely the acrobatics call for sequined, unitard versions of the famous jumpsuits?), but Cirque promises that new video clips will be uploaded weekly on the Elvis-Cirque site, so we will be checking back often to see what's there.
Ticket info and a precise opening date have yet to be released, but sure all that will be made public around the time they’re ready to dish on the name. We have our own suggestions, of course, but we’d rather wait for the big reveal.
