So, maybe the recession has put a damper on your summer plans to visit Paris. Instead, live like a bon vivant, if only for one night, at Mon Ami Gabi, located inside Paris Las Vegas.

The classic French bistro is hosting a special wine dinner on Thursday, July 30th, featuring a five-course dinner created by Executive Chef Terry Lynch paired with the classic wines of California’s Rodney Strong Vineyards. Truth be told, California wines wouldn’t be our first pick to pair with French cuisine (we opt for France over California any day when it comes to grapes), but can’t deny for a sec that Rodney Strong Vineyards makes some mighty fine wine.

Here’s the menu:

Salmon & Lobster Rillettes
toasted croutons
2008 Rodney Strong Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc

Seared Tuna
beet, apple & ginger slaw
2006 Rodney Strong Russian River Reserve Chardonnay

Roasted Duck Breast
blackberry-black peppercorn gastrique
2006 Rodney Strong Estate Knotty Vines Zinfandel

Filet of Beef
roquefort & walnut butter, warm potato salad
2006 Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Symmetry (Meritage)

Chocolate Mousse
cabernet reduction, cocoa wafers
2006 True Gentleman’s Port

The details: The event takes place Thursday, July 30th, starting at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $85 per person, including tax and gratuity. For reservations or more information, call (702) 944-4224.
