Summer of '69 Now Offering Up a VW Bug to a Lucky Gambler

The Summer of ’69 is still going strong in downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street. What might have appeared as a strange marketing gimmick is seriously turning into a tourist spot of some serious fun, high spirits and invention.

Aside from some of the great, old-school music acts that have been playing on Fremont Street all summer--bands like Three Dog Night and The Guess Who (groups that have ignited a new, younger fan base based on the feedback we’ve been getting)--there are currently some wicked promos.

Take for instance, what’s happening at the Plaza Hotel & Casinos and at the Vegas Club. Twenty lucky people, that’s right 20, will have a chance to win and drive off in that iconic little creation known as the VW Bug (no jokes about Herbie The Love Bug please).

The concept is deceptively simple, that is to say it's not easy to enter. Winners will be drawn from Player’s Club members who receive one drawing entry for every 100 points earned for the month of July. Every Monday and Wednesday are double entry days. The big drawing will be held July 31 at 8 p.m. at the Vegas Club.

Each winner will roll five dice and if that lucky person can spell out “V–W–B–U–G” with all five dice, they win a brand new 2009 Volkswagen Beetle. So head down there, you really don’t have much to lose.
