Now’s the Time to Book Your 9-9-09 Wedding

August 10, 2009 at 6:52 PM | by Erika Pope | 0 Comments

A few weeks back, we told you about the Stratosphere’s 99-couple wedding extravaganza to take place on September 9, but by no means are they the only ones looking to capitalize on the triple-digit significance of that date. With 9/9/09 now officially less than one month away, everyone’s getting on the bandwagon.

Among the wedding venues offering 9/9/09-themed packages are none other than the upscale Bellagio, which is featuring a $5,000 9/9/09 package inclusive of one hour’s chapel time, floral arrangements, Dom Perignon champagne, Jean Philippe Maury chocolates, photography, DVDs of the ceremony and limo transport for the bride and groom to downtown’s Marriage License Bureau. At that price, the additional inclusion of two complimentary buffets for bride and groom seems a bit beside the point (couldn’t they have swung a romantic dinner-for-two at Picasso or something?), but that’s just us.

Decidedly less spendy are three packages being offered at Cupid’s Wedding Chapel. At this downtown, classic-kitschy Vegas chapel, you can spend anywhere from $99.99 to $1,999.99 for a wedding on 9/9/09. The $99 package includes a ceremony in the chapel’s Tivoli Gazebo, “use of” a bride’s bouquet and groom’s boutonniere (those would be silk arrangements, natch), a photographer and up to 9 wedding proofs delivered via email. For $1,999.99, your ceremony includes a unity candle lighting ceremony, bouquet of 29 (fresh) roses and rose boutonniere, two DVDs of the ceremony, a nine-serving wedding cake, a photographer and 99 of your wedding photo poses delivered on DVD, one hour of chapel time, two hours in a stretch limo and – drum roll, please – a showgirl and an Elvis who will serenade you with three songs.

The Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel has a whole roster of 9/9/09 wedding packages ranging from $199.09 to $999.09. Here, the deluxe package gets you an Elvis impersonator/wedding officiant, a grand entrance to the ceremony in a pink Cadillac, “theatrical lighting and fog,” as well as dinner for two (limo transport included) at Pampas Brazilian Steakhouse at Planet Hollywood.

There are surely other packages out there. If there’s a particular venue you’re interested in, we suggest calling them and inquiring about their 9/9/09 availability and package offerings directly.
