The windows were not soundproofed well enough and we could hear trains going by in the middle of the night which woke us up whenever they pulled their horns. The telephones kept dropping calls (these are land lines) and the hotel was seriously understaffed. And this was before the great economic fallout of Fall 2008. We've also heard that breakfast at DJT is terrible as in "Truck stop diners are better than this." Yikes.
We paid $159 a night last year but we've seen the rates go as low as $109 for those huge rooms. If you're keen to stay in a place with space rather than amenities or nightlife (remember, there's no casino on-site here), you'd probably do alright here. Otherwise, splurge a little more and get a spacious room at The Venetian.
