Switch at Encore Las Vegas.

Hey, all you gourmands and do-gooders! Mark your calendars right this minute for the 3rd Annual Las Vegas Restaurant Week.

From August 31 – September 6, you can wine and dine your way around town in the name of charity. As if you really needed an excuse to take advantage of one of the countries best dining destinations. More than 50 of the city’s fine dining establishments are serving up prix fixe menus priced at $20.09, $30.09 and $50.09 with a portion of the proceeds going to Three Square Food Bank (which stands for three square meals a day).

Some restaurants are even throwing in extras, like MGM Grand, which is offering deluxe accommodations and a tasting menu for two for just $159 at any one of their signature restaurants, including: L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, NOBHILL TAVERN, SEABLUE, FiAMMA, Diego, Pearl, Shibuya and Craftsteak. What a sweet deal.

Mandalay Bay and THEhotel are also offering special rates for Restaurant Week visitors which will include a dining credit to the House of Blues Restaurant, Sand Dollars, credits to be used at Mandalay Beach, and $5 child admission to The Shark Reef Aquarium.

We did a quick search of the Mandalay Bay site for these special rates but found that the advertised $99 Hot Summer Rates promotion included all the same perks. But at the MGM Grand, we didn't see any special rates for restaurant week listed.

We're also intrigued by the Wynncore (Wynn + Encore) chefs who will be honoring the memory of Julia Child as well by creating Child-inspired menus with the proceeds of course, going to Three Square. Look for these dishes at Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, Botero, Daniel Boulud Brasserie, Okada, Sinatra, Society Café, SW Steakhouse, Switch and The Country Club.
