Even more predictable was that everything was paired with shots of booze. When in Vegas…The boys went balls-to-the-ball with their fairly fancy preparations (especially by casual pool party standards), and managed to take home the win.
The Quickfire brought out a craps table, where with a roll of the dice, contestants determined how many ingredients they had to use in their dish (not including salt, pepper or oil). Of course, there was a time component to the scenario, with Jennifer C., Kevin and Michael V. ranking in the top three. No surprises there.
We don’t know about you, but we’re a bit overwhelmed as we try to navigate the awkward get-to-know-you phase with the 16 contestants. Make that 15, now that mousy Eve got kicked to the curb last night. This will all work itself out in the coming weeks as more and more contestants are eliminated and we get some quality screen time with fewer faces. For the time being, we’re trying to size up who’s worth our Top Chef emotional investment. The verdict is still out.
So, we’re on week two. Who are you routing for? Any rock star chefs or total wrecks? Weigh in here.
