Getting Closer to Strip Domination: City Center Unveils Its Opening Schedule

We've been keeping consistent tabs on City Center, opening in December but now MGM Mirage has released specific opening dates for all the buildings within City Center. Mark these down on your calendars:

· Vdara Hotel: December 1
· The Crystals (retail and entertainment "district"): December 3.
· Mandarin Oriental: December 4.
· Aria Resort and Casino: December 16.
· The Harmon: Delayed until late 2010.

Now for a buzz kill. We just did a check on the Mandarin Oriental rooms and those will start at $595 a night for 500-sq.ft. with Um, yeah. May want to talk to Steve Wynn about how successful it is to ask such high opening rates in Vegas.

Meanwhile, Vdarais $159 a night (plus the $15 resort fee) on opening night and rooms at Aria were available for $179 on Dec. 17th.

Also, reservations for all things inside the Ara and Vdara Hotels like spa appointments and restaurant reservations begin on November 9th. And don't forget the Elvis Cirque du Soleil show is coming mid-December too.
