How To See Some Vegas Shows On The Cheap

Time for another VegasChatter Question! Got a question about Vegas? Send it to us and if we deem it clean enough, we'll post it here on VegasChatter. Now, we'll spit out our own suggestions but we want you to help your fellow Vegas visitors too. So drop your answers in comments below!

VegasChatter reader cameraman043 is hitting Vegas next week and wants to know how to secure show discounts. The best way to secure a discount is to have some flexibility in the shows you might want to see. In which case we suggest visiting Tix4Tonight or VegasTix4Less.

These two companies share a similar M.O. and have ticket booths located around the Strip, with Tix4Tonight outlets also at Town Square, Downtown, and Tuscany Casino. Sort through discounts on Vegas shows and often excursions like Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam or even restaurants. The inventory can change daily and some of the more popular shows are not always available or sell out quickly, hence the need to be flexible.

We recently scored category two Love tickets (retail $143 each) for under hundred bucks a piece via Tix4Tonight and Jersey Boys were available at similar percent discount. We found both these offers to be a great deal since they aren’t consistently offered. The downside to both Tix4Tonight and VegasTix4Less is that you must purchase in person and most shows are offered same day, with only some offered up to a few days in advance. You can get a slight heads up on shows by signing up for Tix4Tonight email and text alerts, sending ‘Events' to 75309, or following them @LVTix4Tonight.

Another option but one that will cost some money up front is House Seats which offers a 60 day trial membership for $39. Why pay for discounted tickets you ask? The trick here is that you pay a one time fee for the duration of your membership and any show tickets you opt in for are free. So if you’re able to attend one show you’ve paid for your membership and still seen that show at a discount. While we have seen some premium shows via Houseseats (but never a Cirque), either the show selection lately has been a bit lacking or we’ve seen too many shows. If you’re looking to visit Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club, see Nathan Burton, Purple Reign, or Frank Marino’s Divas, these are shows offered fairly frequently.

You can lookout for room/show packages (or just call to ask the hotel). Booking both at the same time can sometimes secure a discount if you want to sleep where the show is at. Sleep, after the show that is – not during. Alternatively, ask for any show coupons that might be available when you check-in. You should also sign-up for Las Vegas Groupon. Most offers are for restaurant and attractions but you never know when a show might pop-up. And signing up is free.

If you’re of mind to plan and crunch some numbers, don’t forget Harrah’s All Stage Pass as an option. Where have you found some serious show discounts? Let us know!
