We're not sure what the monkey or the mullet man had to do with gaming but they were there.
We could tell that the Dark Knight and Hangover slots are going to be the standout games, both of which debuted at this year's expo. In the same area, we saw that table games are looking to get larger and more automated.
After being lost in gaming bliss for many hours we headed across the hall to the Food, Beverage and Entertainment portion of the expo. We found some interesting beverage and food options that we'll probably never see as they were mostly from smaller companies and most of the people "sampling" them just wanted free drinks and snacks. This area also had enough entertainers and lookalikes that we hope to never see again.
We heard a couple conflicting things while walking the floor. Attendance seems to have been higher, while exhibitors seemed to be lower than in the past. A casino worker also made mention that he "lost" $300 in less than five minutes on the new 3D Godzilla penny slot. Yikes!
All in all, this expo is perfect for gaming nerds, fan boys and of course, anyone in the gaming and casino industry. But for just casual gamblers, you may as well skip the hefty attendance fee (from $99 to $175) and just ask us questions instead.
