It May Not Fulfill Our Every Desire, But Identity Is A Pretty Great Loyalty Program
A quick note on the Identity loyalty program at the Cosmopolitan. We signed up for it last week but hadn’t got any kind of confirmation, which we thought was odd seeing as John Unwin had said in the RJ this weekend:
We'll kick it [Identity] off before we open. The mechanisms are all in place for guests to sign up on our website. We'll begin to market the program right before we open. These cards were designed to be permanent and can be used as room keys and membership cards while you're here.
Anyways, thanks to an extremely cheery member of staff yesterday, we have the details.
The program launches today. If you’re coming to the opening and have emailed in your details, your account will be set up already (see the Identity desk or the concierge for your card). If not, you can sign up at the Identity desk - and there will be staff spread out across the casino floor signing people up tonight, too. And yes, your card can also function as your room key, much like the Wynn ones.
You get points for everything that you spend at the Cosmo. Non gamblers welcome. Here’s how it breaks down:
10 points for every $1 you spend on your hotel room (as in booking the room). If you book online via the Cosmo website, you get a bonus 1,000 points for every night that you stay.
10 points for every $4 you spend at the spa or in the restaurants.
10 points for every $10 you spend in the shops.
10 points for ever $15 you spend on the slot machines, for every $50 you spend on videopoker, and for every $100 you lay down on table games.
Once you get to 1500 points, you can start redeeming them. Every point is worth a cent, so you’ll have $15 to spend. And you can redeem that anywhere – in the casino, at the spa, in a shop or for your dindins.
A gambling friend of ours says that this is closest to the Grazie scheme at Venetian-Palazzo, and he was particularly impressed by the videopoker pointage.
Us, we’re more excited by what amounts to 10 percent of your room rate going into what we’re going to call a resort credit. Plus an extra $10 spending money per day for booking online.
It may not be quite "all we desire" because we'd really desire a $1000 giftcard delivered in person by that tall one from Thunder Down Under, but apart from that, it's pretty good. Truly, we like Identity already.
