NASCAR Weekend Starts Tonight On The Strip

Just pray you don’t get stuck behind these lot tonight

If you’re on the Strip tonight and wonder what all the huge NASCAR haulers are doing trundling along it, well, that’s because NASCAR weekend starts tonight with the annual NASCAR Hauler Parade (starting at Russell Road at 6pm and finishing at Sahara, where they’ll hit the I-15).

As for what else is on offer: the racing starts tonight at the Motor Speedway (LVMS), while tomorrow is qualifying day for the Sprint Cup. Saturday at 1pm is the Nationwide Series, and, far more importantly, Danica Patrick’s Vegas debut.

Then the biggie – the snappily-named Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup race - takes place on Sunday at noon. Kim Kardashian will be battling her hangover from her Tao party the night before, and acting as marshal, while everyone's favorite cradlesnatcher Terry Fator will sing the National Anthem.

Wait a minute – Terry Fator? Singing the National Anthem? Good grief Vegas, is that the best you could do? Mariah’s in town and you ask Fator. We give up.
