Tropicana's New Paradise Tower Rooms are Hot Hot Hot

UPDATE 4/8: We just added a video. Enjoy!
After our visit to the Tropicana casino last week, we couldn’t wait to see the new rooms in the Paradise Tower (the one directly opposite Excalibur). And yesterday, we finally got a peek.
We’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but for what we think of a cheap Vegas hotel, we found it pretty revelatory. This is a standard (they call it deluxe) room but it has a chaise longue, shutters instead of fugly curtains, and nice decor. It has rattan drawers* instead of boring wood, a carpet we approve of and a cute candy striped bathroom.
Our favorite bit? The giant plant. Now we’re just praying drunkies don’t think it’s funny to kill them or poison them with booze.
All in all, very sharp, extremely impressive. Which gets us even more mouth-watery for the suites, due to open 15 May.
These rooms will set you back $90 for tonight (as opposed to $60 for a standard Trop Garden room) or a whopping $190 for Saturday. But it beats the other cheapos and even the standard rooms at Caesars into a cocked hat.
*NB that TV on top of the rattan drawers is about to be replaced with a 42in plasma screen. Sexy!
