VegasChatter's 2010 Field Guide to the Vegas Pool Scene

It's the most wonderful time of the year in Las Vegas--pool season. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, an estimated 304,000 people will visit Sin City this Memorial Day Weekend and it's safe to say that most of them will be looking to play poolside.

But where shall they go? Well, we've got some suggestions.

VegasChatter has compiled an essential Field Guide to the Vegas Pool Scene* detailing the hottest pool parties, how to get into them, what to expect when you're splashing around and where to go if you'd rather just lay by the pool in relative quiet.

Like many other unpredictable events in Vegas, the pool parties all offer different things at different times on different days. So what you experienced on a Saturday could be more wild or more tame than what you see on Sunday. We've done our best to keep up with these fickle policies and ever-changing party scenes but let us know when something's changed--for better or for worse.

And on that note, Bottoms Down! Er...Bottoms Up! Come on in, the water's mostly fine, there just might be a floating plastic football mug or two and a deflated inner tube here and there. Oh and some panties. But other than that, JUMP IN!

HOT POOL PARTIES: Let's face it, you didn't really come to Vegas to work on your tan. You came to show off the amazing results from your rigorous GTL routine, get drunk and hook up. Here's where you should go.
POOLS WITH CLASS: What? Oh you DID want to come to Vegas to work on your suntan and maybe catch up with your stack of Librarian Monthly mags? Well then, head to these classy and quiet pools, typically open for hotel guests only.
POOLS FOR GAMBLING: One of the most beautiful things about Vegas is the ability to gamble anywhere, even in your swim trunks. Here's where you can ante up while getting wet.
NEW POOLS TO TRY: Every time a new pool in Vegas opens, a cocktail waitress dusts off her clear heels and irons her sarong. But we like new pools because they bring new amenities and new experiences. And they've got to be cleaner than the rest, right?
10 OTHER POOLS TO TRY: The pool scene is Vegas is deep, very deep and we just wanted to give a shout-out to other pools with cool amenities and services here.

Share your best and worst Vegas pool experiences with us in comments below. Got Photos? Add 'em to our Summer 2010 Pool Party photo gallery by email or Facebook. We even have a VegasChatter Flickr Pool. And yes, we want the dirty ones too.

This is awesome

Seriously - nice work here compiling everything for the start of pool season.

does size matter?

I've only been to Tao Beach when it's not banging, but i think I'd be claustrophobic if it was full. Or does that actually make it a better party? Confused.

Finally!!

Pool season is here. It's like Christmas. So many new pools to unwrap. Finally. Bare Friday, Liquid Saturday, Encore Sunday, Wet monday. I need sunscreen. and a second liver on standy by. and probably 4000 dollars for entry fees. I love it.
