A newly renovated Resort Deluxe king room at the Wynn

After five years, Wynn Las Vegas was due for a renovation in their guest rooms and that's just what they've announced today. And not only have the room looks been upgraded, there's a name change too from Resort to Resort Deluxe:

The new Resort Deluxe room offers a modern update to our classic resort room.  Featuring a crisp, neutral and creamy decor, the Resort Deluxe is draped in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows and accented by an array of contemporary furnishings and fabrics. Additional, advance technologies including remotely controlled lighting, drapery and room service messaging are the pinnacle of guest convenience and privacy.

But you can rest assured that the vivid floral artwork will remain!

The old Resort King room

Guests will be able to request a deluxe king room or two double beds in this category, which starts at about 640-sq.ft. The Panoramic View Deluxe rooms and the Panoramic Corner View Deluxe rooms will also get a "refreshed" look.

So far, nothing looks drastically different. It looks as if they switched out the sofas, the carpeting and the drapes as well as lightened the walls. But the end tables and desk look pretty similar to us.

The new resort rooms are currently being remodeled and will continue through early 2011. We were unable to find any of the room categories for next weekend, except for the Panoramic View Deluxe room which was going for $1,097 a night. Deluxe Panoramic View for $366 a night. One of the older Resort Kings was still open at $296 a night.

If you're dead set on staying in one of the new rooms, don't fool around on the internet--call the hotel or casino marketing in person to ensure you're staying in a renovated room.
