Hyde Lounge Was So Yesterday, It's Hyde Bellagio Today

"Sexy shadows" meet Philippe Starck.

Now that we've brought you the first look into Hyde Lounge at Bellagio how about a little more on the experience itself? But, first, don't make the mistake of calling it Hyde Lounge, anymore. We just learned that it's being called "Hyde Bellagio," now.

While we gave you a detailed glimpse at the inside of the new lounge yesterday, we neglected to mention that its contemporary design is the work of Gulla Jonsdottir and Philippe Starck. Starck was supposed to redesign the rooms of the Sahara, once upon a time. (As you probably know, Hyde Bellagio is brought to us by SBE, the same company that owns the now shuttered hotel.)

PR reps say Hyde Lounge Hyde Bellagio is inspired by an "opulent Italian villa lost centuries ago...artfully brought back to life." mmm'kay. We're not seeing the Italian villa thing right now, but maybe it's one of those 'have to be there' experiences.

The most intriguing thing we've learned today, however, is that what East Coast Gambler wants is what East Coast Gambler gets.

Hyde Bellagio will feature a menu of tapas "intriguing small plates" starting at 5 p.m. up until 11 p.m. when the lounge.. err, club?.. jumps off. No word whether sangrias will be on the drink menu, but we think this may already be enough to uproot Petrossian Bar as a certain someone's all-time favorite hangout. Now... what else can we use East Coast Gambler's powers for?

Hyde Bellagio makes its debut on New Year's Eve.
