Hungry And Thirsty At The Hard Rock? There's An App For That

Have you been on a heater at the tables or lighting up the bonus reels when hunger pains hit? Or the throat goes dry waiting for the cocktail waitress to circle back 'round to quench that thirst. But yet this table's hot, you can't leave - that's just throwing money away! Maybe the desert sun is beating down on you poolside, you need a burger (veggie that teeny weeny bikini reminds you) but your cash is drying out in the room. Now there's an app for that, at least at the Hard Rock.

On a recent trip to the 'Rock we spotted signs for Pago, an app that allows you to order and pay for goods and services throughout the casino. We ~~assumed it was lame~~ took note to dive into it later and now that we did, it might be worth checking out. Especially if you spend a lot of time at HRH, the only Vegas spot to offer the service so far.

Pink Taco to go right at your fingertips. Order a round of drinks from the center bar. Prefer to place an order at Johnny Smalls without stepping into the over-sized, pumped-up jukebox? Perhaps some Chinese fuel from Mr. Lucky's before boarding the flight home.

To get started the app only needs a phone number, name, 4 digit PIN, and date of birth. We test ordered up a bucket of Buds and a Captain Morgan's (the app asks if you want it straight up, neat, on the rocks, or monster) for a total $33 before gratuity which you can add at the poke of a button. We didn't say the drinks were any cheaper but it does look like the Hard Rock is giving out a ten dollar credit at the moment for checking out the app.

Store a credit card number in the app and the next round is on you. One drawback is having to actually go pick up the drink and food order. A minor detail but one to keep in mind when planning your exit from the table, hotel room, or other private space you find yourself with the munchies. Rest assured you can still place sports bets without walking anywhere.

Once Pago expands beyond the Hard Rock, we could see ourselves using it at the right spots. Fatburger at the end of a losing night anyone? It even tracks your receipts in case the previous night's escapades need some piecing together over a venti double double hot scoopa scoopa molten lava pumpkin spice. Which you can order from the Hard Rock Starbucks and pay for via Pago.
