We didn't win no spellin' bees growing up but may not have impressed a little chica or two on the playground with supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. These days we find ourselves stopping to think whether we live in the desert or eat it. So it came as no surprise we did a take times dos at the More Chilli slot machine.

Was that really the right spelling? It couldn't be. Unless the chain restaurant has had it wrong all this time. Had we just found the ultimate Vegas mistake? We then had the following conversation in our head and best Cheech and Chong voices:

Hey man. Open up. I got the stuff.
Who?
Open up, I got the chilli's.
Yeah man, I'm chill.
Come on man, don't you want chilli peppers?
No man, you gotta chill.
Damn. What am I going to do with all these chilli peppers?
Who?

That didn't help explain the proper spelling but it made the headache from thinking about it go away. Was More Chilli a play on words? Spin more to chill the hot chili pepper? We couldn't find any icy references on the reels filled with sombreros, roosters, and chilli carts.

Turns out the slot machine is made by Aristocrat Technologies, a slot maker based in Australia. And the proper Australian spelling for chili is with two L's. At least that's what this lady says and, while we didn't check out snopes, a little googling indicates it be on the up and up.

Chili. Now with one L or two. We got schooled without putting even a penny in the slot machine.
