Barry Manilow's Instinct is to 'Get Out Of Town'

It seems Barry Manilow may be leaving Las Vegas, after all.

VegasChatter fan Angela P. wrote us over the weekend to express her surprise that we hadn't reported on his definitive departure from Vegas. Truth is, we hadn't heard a peep. But, then again, his announcement was reportedly made on The Insider so can you really blame us for missing it?

Across the Internets, fanilows are pointing to the October 18 interview as proof that Manilow isn't going to Venetian or Harrah's, for that matter. And, that he was in fact, leaving town. We searched and searched for a video of the interview, but came up empty. We found nothing on the Insider's web page, either. Even Barry's official Facebook site coyly references a big announcement on the tabloidesque show, but fails to follow up on what exactly it was. It does, though, feature a note, assumedly, from the singer himself:

Our last show at Paris Las Vegas is on December 11th. There’s absolutely no truth to the rumor that we’re going anywhere. We’re deciding what would be the best thing to do. Thank Goodness, there are still loads of options.

My instinct is to get out of town. You know that song “How Can I Miss You If You Don’t Go Away”? That’s what I’m feeling now.

It certainly has been a great ride there. When we started the Vegas adventure it was only for one year. We’re now into our 7th year!

The note was posted ten days before the date of the "Insider" interview. There's been no official word from his camp on a departure from Vegas.

More from Angela P.

"This is what Barry Manilow said on The Insider about Vegas: 'I'm saying thank you to Las Vegas for just being, treating me so great. We've had a great time there but it's time to, it's time to go. Vegas was playing it safe. I gotta go out and uh, take some risks again. No not a tour, but we're playing the Hollywood Bowl for three nights, we're playing Radio City for four nights.'"
