Slots, Slots And More Slots

The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is nirvana for those of us that love casinos. Our first look is at the new slot machines that take up about a third (probably more) of the exhibition area. One of the themes in slot machines this year seems to be "Go Big or Go Home." There will be lots more community slot games that range from 2-8 people wide. Amazon Fishing is the biggest slot we've ever seen with eight seats and while we're not sure we'll play this we're intrigued by the size. It could be fun to drop a bill in with seven of our friends as long as we have beverages.

Another new community game that we thought was cool? Clue. Colonel Mustard in the library with a lead pipe? We're in! The game, itself, is based on games already released (like Press Your Luck), but it still looks fun. This leads perfectly into the less exciting trend in slot machines at G2E -- it seems as if manufacturers are relying on technology they've already created and just slapping on new themes. While we're into seeing Ghostbusters, Batman and Michael Jackson clips, the games themselves aren't anything new. Sure, we're simple and will enjoy the themes but we'd like to see something new, different and exciting.

Enjoy some more new slot machine treats in the gallery above.
