Introducing 'Vegas Stripped': A New TV Show That's Not What You Think It is

2/2/12 Update: Vegas Stripped airs February 8th at 10 p.m. EST on the Travel Channel and appears to highlight the inner workings of the South Point. Check the teaser video here.

The Travel Channel released their Spring 2012 line-up this morning and while HotelChatter freaked geeked out about the new hotel-centric show, Hotel Impossible, we've got our guard up for the new TV show called Vegas Stripped. But it's not about what you think it is. Here's the official description of the show, which will air six half-hour episodes:

In “Vegas Stripped,” get an exclusive all access pass behind the scenes at a 39,000 square foot hotel resort casino. From the massive volume of foods to be ordered and prepared, to overseeing a security team equal to a mid-sized town’s police force, there is a lot of competition from the big boys on the strip.

This is something that's always fascinated us about Vegas -- how hotel-casinos operate like their own cities, right down to their own medical staff. The Wall Street Journal gave us an inside look at the inner-workings of the MGM Grand a few months ago and, just last month while attending a conference at the Las Vegas Sands, we learned some pretty impressive facts about the Venetian and Palazzo operations as well.

For instance, did you know that housekeeping does over 90,000 pounds of laundry a day at the Venetian and Palazzo? Or that the custom-built gondolas are 33-feet-long and weigh approximately 2,000 pounds? Or that the hotels employ 60 concierges, 380 bellmen and valets and over 1,300 housekeepers? And that's just one of the hotels on The Strip. We can't wait to see what else "Vegas Stripped" finds.
