Vegas Sightseeing Helicopter Crashes During Sunset Tour, Killing All Aboard

They're fun and booking one is a Vegas 'must do' for many. But, yesterday one of those helicopter tours that buzz up and down The Strip and out to Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon and back, crashed mid-flight killing all five aboard, four tourists and one pilot.

It's a horrifying story and one that's still being pieced together. Associated Press reports that recovery teams are now making their way to the remote crash site near Lake Mead to retrieve the victims whose identities and hometowns have not yet officially been revealed.

The AP states that the tour was operated by Sundance Helicopters and that the company has flown more than 167,000 passengers this year alone.

We hope answers come quickly for those now grieving.

12/9 UPDATE: USA Today reports that two of five victims were in Vegas celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. They were from Utica, Kansas.
