What everyone's suspected for months is about as official as you can get without the hour-long press conference (due to take place, anyway, next week). The permanent Michael Jackson Cirque show is coming to Mandalay Bay.

Cirque says it will fill us in on an "unparalleled and extensive relationship" with Mandalay Bay and the Michael Jackson family on Wednesday, but when you throw around phrases like "a permanent celebration to The King of Pop in Las Vegas" you really let the kid out of Neverland.

Vegas gossip Robin Leach says to look for the show to make its debut in 2013 and for Disney's THE LION KING to end its circle of life at Mandalay Bay later this year.

What we really want to know is more on the Cirque-themed club that Light Group let out of the bag a few months back to Forbes. If it's not Michael Jackson-esque and also at Mandalay Bay, we'll moonwalk down The Strip.

Until the rest of the deets are ungloved, catch Cirque's Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour in a (North American) city near you. It kicks off this October in Montreal and swings through Vegas December 3-27. From randomly poking around the reservation site, it looks like all the cheap seats are gone, but you can still find tix for just under two hundred each.

Camera Phone?

Why such a depressing picture of Mandalay Bay? Was that taken out the window of a plane landing at McCarran?

Photo location

Couldn't be McCarran, there's the Luxor obelisk in the foreground. Judging by Google Maps (lining up the end of Mandalay's tower with the obelisk out in front of Luxor, the sight line goes right in between both of Tropicana's towers and ends at a room near the end of MGM Grand's south tower.
