We've been playing a lot of video poker lately and we're noticing a specific occurrence happening more than we used to. Since we caught our white whale it seems as if we're one card away from hitting a large jackpot just about every other hand.
We aren't always missing the big hand and losing. No, we're fortunate that our "losses" aren't always losses - they're just not the big wins we're hoping for and this seems to be happening more and more lately. In the case above, the difference in winning 30 versus 250 is huge. That's six hands versus 100 more hands and, depending on the denomination you play, some real money.
Trust us, we're not complaining about getting winning hands and missing the big one, we're just noticing that this has been happening to us more often than not and more often than it used to. In the meantime, we keep plugging along with our medium-sized victories and building up our Players Club points in hopes we can make enough comps for an actual chicken dinner.
