The Only Thing We Would Change About the Element Las Vegas

So we're back at one of our favorite off-strip hotels, Element Las Vegas.

We love this Westin spin-off brand because the rooms are spacious (there's a full kitchen in our one-bedroom suite with a dish washer), the breakfast is da bomb, the poolside cabanas are free, the WiFi is also gratis, the entire place is non-smoking and overall, the hotel just makes for a great, modern but comfortable hotel stay. We just wish there were more Elements out there (currently, there are only nine in the U.S.)

However, there is one teensy thing we would change. You see, last time we were here we had a room facing out the back and from which we could just about make out the Strip, or the Stratosphere at least. But this time, we're facing Town Center Drive and the 215 freeway. Those we don't mind too much but this deserted patch of land out in front makes for a serious anti-view.

We'll just have to focus on the mountains for now but next time we come back, we're requesting an even-numbered room as those are the ones with the (slightly) better view.

Dallas

If you are ever in Dallas there is a really cool Element about 2 miles outside the North exit of the airport. They offer free drinks/apps at the mangers reception Mon-Thur 5-7pm. It is nice.

Totally agree!

You are right.  The Element in the Las Vegas area is really great.  My husband and I stayed about six months ago and really enjoyed all its amenities.  We had a room with the strip view and were able to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks right from our window - and it was such a nice and quiet hotel to stay at. (Although we love the hustle and bustle of the strip!!!) The staff was really nice and helpful - we also loooved the breakfast mini buffett - yowza!  They had a great workout room with treadmills that had individual TV's but of course, we were too busy eating the awesome breakfasts and hitting the video poker machines, we barely had time to fit em' in!  All in all, very nice hotel!

View...we don't need no stinkin' view

Who goes to Vegas (other than Vegas Virgins) for the view out da window?!?!?!

Not an Anti-View

I hate the "anti-view" posts on Vegas and Hotel Chatter because most of them are just hollow criticism. To me, an anti-view is a brick wall or HVAV equipment 5 feet from the window. A parking lot, natural desert landscape, and mountains is not an anti-view. Anyone that complains about this view (in a room that isn't marketed as having a view) is likely the type of person that wants a 5-star hotel at a 2-star price.
