The saying goes fish out of water but for us once in awhile the sight of a human in water is what stops us in our tracks. Sometimes it's expected, like the Silverton Casino's mermaid, a kid sliding through the Shark Tank pool at the Golden Nugget, or the future humans in the Hard Rock pool.

Our most recent Kodak (video) moment came at the Golden Nugget's other tank: the giant fish filled one between the Rush Tower's check-in desk and the Chart House restaurant. We spied a couple scuba divers giving the glass the good scrubbing that Hard Rock pool needs.

Are we weird for our fascination with humans in the tank? Apparently not given the hype that led up to Tanked, the Vegas based reality show about big aquariums we told you about a couple weeks back.

Speaking of getting Tanked, we checked out the show's first episode and it was pretty damn entertaining. The show revolves around two brothers-in-law, one of their sister/wive, dad, and a dude named Robbie Redneck who has an RV parked in back of the shop. Which reminded us of Rod Beck's late playing days in the minor leagues where he lived in an RV in the outfield and drank beers with fans after games. We might just have to wander down to the Tanked store and see if Mr. Redneck is serving up PBRs.

Back on topic, the premiere ep involved designing and installing several amaze aquariums, including the tank at Tropicana's Mob Experience. That tank was one of the only good best exhibits at the LVME so watching it come together from a glint in their eye to being filled with fish, flat screens, cement shoes, and TNT was fascinating. The reality show arguments seemed authentic and only added to the entertainment value.

Catch Tanked Fridays at 9 p.m. E/P on Animal Planet. Catch the blue housekeeping tank divers downtown at the Golden Nugget.
