Oktoberfest at Hofbräuhaus Starts This Weekend (Not in October)

Summer ending is a sad time for many reasons. Right now, it makes us sad because we love our fruity summer brews. However, we know those summer brew taps are eventually replaced with micro fall and winter brews. The refreshing light and fruity beers make way for more heavier beers to go along with heavier coats. Thankfully, our sadness will be pushed aside because the fall also brings us Oktoberfest. Where better to experience the German tradition than at Hofbräuhaus? Hofbräuhaus is located catty-corner from the Hard Rock and is one of the sweetest beer halls we've come across.

Oktoberfest is usually a 16-18 day festival but we're in Vegas and Hofbräuhaus brings us 6 weeks of Oktoberfest. On September 17, Oktoberfest will kick off with a surprise celebrity keg tapper cracking open the first barrel of brew. Siegfried & Roy have stopped by for the past seven years so we wouldn't be surprised if it was them. Hopefully, they keep the tigers away. Other random keg tappers throughout the month will include Holly Madison, Oscar Goodman and Carrot Top. Seriously, who wouldn't want to have a beer and conversation with both Holly and Carrot Top?

Besides sharing beers with Vegas celebs, Hofbräuhaus promises that we'll get to experience lots of lederhosen. For more info on Oktoberfest, head to the Hofbräuhaus website.

Where better?

I'll tell ya..Munich! Which is where I will be and visiting the true Hofbrauhaus. But, the Vegas branch is excellent and I recommend it any time for an authentic German meal.

I'll be thinking about it as I pay homage at the original next week. Prost!

I've only been to two other beer halls/gardens that felt authentic. The Astoria beer garden and Zeppelin Hall in Jersey City. I've never been to Germany, but I looooove the movie Beerfest. :)
