Light Group states that the Russian-themed bar will become a "revitalized dinner, cocktail and nightlife destination." Its expansive selection of caviar will still be on the menu, though, and its frozen bar and private vodka vault will remain as well. Its trademark headless Lenin statue, however, went unmentioned in the press announcement.

When we inquired about the previously announced Japanese restaurant concept by Akira Back (he's the chef behind Yellowtail at Bellagio) coming to Mandalay as well, we were told details were still forthcoming which causes us to think that it may not be a lock to replace China Grill. There's also the shuttered Shanghai Lilly space that could work for this venture as well. And, thinking on a larger scale, as Light Group is partners with Morgans Hotel Group which is bringing The Delano to THEhotel in late 2013, perhaps, we could see Back's restaurant in the space currently occupied by THEhotel's cafe. Or, if you really want to get crazy with it, replacing Mix on the 64th floor.

We'll keep on top of all the changes and will bring you the latest as we uncover more. Until then, expect to try out the new Red Square this December and Citizens in January 2013.
