Just when we figured out how to get our Elvis fix the right way, its been taken away from us.

Legends in Concert is leaving Harrah's with its last show set for December 30th. The announcement was made on Friday, but Harrah's has already moved on by announcing earlier today that Million Dollar Quartet will take over as the hotel's headliner beginning in February 2013.

MDQ is based on the real-life, one-night jam session that took place between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins. (Find out who Carl Perkins is here. Sorry, Carl Perkins.) The Broadway smash hit has already played under the bright lights of Vegas with a run at The Smith Center earlier this year. VegasChatter enjoyed it along with hundreds of others, but Broadway and Vegas have had a tumultuous past with some ventures proving to be long lasting and others gone in a blink. (Let's pause to remember Avenue Q, Starlight Express, Phantom of the Opera, and The Lion King, just to name a few.)

Tickets for Million Dollar Quartet at Harrah's will range from $69 to $94 a person, and will go on sale to the public starting Friday, October 26. (Get them tomorrow if you're a Total Rewards member.) The show will make its debut on February 4, 2013 and will run Thursdays through Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays will add a 9:30 p.m. performance as well.

Legends has been at Harrah's for four years now. There are rumors that it's trying to find a new home in Las Vegas.

Great News!

Given that Legends was "blah" at best, this is fantastic news!  I've heard from people I know in NYC that "Million Dollar Quartet" is supposed to be fantastic, so I can't wait to see it in Vegas!

Vegas

The touring version that stopped at Smith Center was fantastic.  Will be interesting to see how a "permanent" version stacks up and if it's cast with MDQ vets or Virgins.

I'm surprised the Venetian didn't snag this.

Million Dollar or Economy Version?

Awww, the twists and turns of Las Vegas Show rumors...

A few months ago when I mentioned that LEGENDS would be leaving Harrah's the end of September, taking up new residency in the RIO and...would be replaced with  MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at Harrah's, almost seems to be in the works, however...
the ever popular whispers hit that LEGENDS will not be involved at any more CET properties now ???

On the other hand, if MILLIION DOLLAR QUARTET is the same group of guys that WOWED The Smith Center, this could be lots of fun...THEY WERE GREAT!

In that version, Elvis, Jerry Lee(who stole the Show), Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins(the KING of Rockabilly guitar who wrote 'Blue Suede Shoes')... were such a talented group, I'm very curious to see what Harrah's/CET will put before us considering they're so deeply in debt and have never liked spending lots of money on their entertainment entertainers.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET 'can' be a great Show and lots of fun...I'm keepin' my fingers crossed!
