It's news that may not be that farfetched. DoubleTree has been taking over several 'boutique' properties, assimilating the Wyndham GardensTimes Square South earlier this year. And, maybe we should refer to DoubleTree by its full name -- DoubleTree by Hilton. Yeah, the Hilton brand that just so happens to have one less presence in Vegas, these days. And, the brand that took over the Westgate (now Elara) at Planet Hollywood in the beginning of the year as well.
The rumor says that just the hotel operations would be transferred to DoubleTree while the Trop would keep running the casino, sportsbook, poker room, restaurants, and its entertainment options. We've asked DoubleTree for comment but, so far, have not received a response. The one thing we do know for sure is that, if it happens, there's going to be some serious cookie quality control to be conducted!
