Priscilla Queen Of The Desert Headed To Las Vegas

October 24, 2012 at 6:05 PM | by | Comments (2)

Its been rumored for months, and months, and months now. And, while we can't link it to a specific hotel (yet), we can finally confirm that Priscilla Queen of the Desert is coming to Las Vegas.

Vegas casting calls and call-backs took place earlier this month with performances set to cover eleven full weeks from June 2013 through August 2013. We're going to add a "mid" to June as the touring show is scheduled to wrap up a stop in Los Angeles on June 16. (Its highly anticipated US road trip starts on January 8 in Minneapolis.)

Priscilla Queen of the Desert ended its run on Broadway this summer. Vegas buzz has been centered around the show coming to either the Venetian or the Palazzo and, since they still have the showroom space, we don't see any reason why that's still not the case.

With rehearsals scheduled to start in about a month (and with Catch Me If You Can already scheduled for The Smith Center June 18-23, 2013 and La Cage aux Folles running there August 14-19), it's just a matter of time before we discover which Vegas Strip property will take on the role of Lasseters hotel and casino.

BRING IT ON!

Even though Las Vegas properties have tried Broadway Shows in the past with little success...(that's why we have the SMITH CENTER now...)
these musicals offer a great evening of entertainment and simply add a little variety to our Show choices and...YES, the Venetian and Palazzo do have some vacancies and YES, there's still some 'rumors' outstanding.
'Human Nature' might be looking for a new home and 'Book Of Mormon' is still... knocking at the door!

Flamingo

Would have been a great fit stylistically for the Flamingo (marketing tie-ins etc.; when I saw it Times Square was blanketed in pink signage)
