Make plans to visit the only ice skating rink on The Strip and follow through just like Brian Boitano would do anytime between Sunday and January 6. What? Oh. This is awkward. Apparently, The Cosmopolitan announced earlier today that it's turning its Boulevard Pool into an ice rink, too. And, The Cosmo is raising the game by adding fire pits, s'mores, a full bar and special themed nights. Sorry, Venetian/Palazzo.
This unique experience will allow guests to enjoy the brisk outdoors amongst fire pits, picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, sample hot drinks and bites, and skate on real ice with family and friends.
The Cosmo's rink will make its debut Friday, November 30 and will run through Sunday, January 20. All-day skate passes will be priced at $10 for locals and $15 for tourists. You'll be able to bring your own skates, but chances are you don't have any so plan to add $5 to your total fees for a rental. (In comparison, the Venetian/Palazzo charged $14.95 last year, but gave a $5 discount to players club holders.)
Another point in The Cosmo's favor is that it will allow tykes as young two on the ice. (Or, against it, depending on how much you like kids.) Venetian/Palazzo drew the line at seven last year.
Stop by on The Cosmo's rink on Monday nights for Date Skate Mondays, skating paired with a holiday movie on the hotel's massive marquee. Meantime, Throwback Thursdays will let visitors show off their best triple salchow to the tunes of the 70s, 80s and 90s.
The Ice Rink at The Cosmo will be open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. through 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. From December 24 through January 4, hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. No skating will take place on New Year's Eve.
