Rum. Tiki. Leroy Schmaltz. Count us in.

Frankie’s Tiki Room is one of the coolest bars in Las Vegas -- a true bastion of bamboo, a jukebox laden with ukulele tunes, tiki tchotchkes, and a great selection of original and classic panty removing potent rum drinks.

FTR is famous for selling their grogs in original ceramic mugs, created by some of the “world’s top lowbrow artists” for $18. A great Vegas keepsake, right?

But the downtown(ish) drinkery is stepping it up and offering a bona fide piece of art for a buck less than a Benjamin.

Iconic tiki carver Leroy Schmaltz has created a limited series of signed/numbered mugs ($99), dubbed the “Lucky Leroy”, to celebrate FTR’s fourth anniversary. Based in Whittier, CA, Schmaltz is generally acknowledged as the godfather of tiki carving, and is credited with keeping this Polynesian/pirate art form as a true slice of Americana.

Bottoms up for $99 bucks.

Meet Mr. Schmaltz, grab a Bearded Clam ($9), a Thurston Howl ($9), or a Mai Tai ($9), and help owner P Moss celebrate their birthday on December 1st. Bring your own grass skirt.
