Commonwealth proprietor Justin Weniger says the bar was "designed to emulate an East Coast bar that has been sitting on the same cobblestone street for the past 100 years; but with these amazing, eclectic touches that make it stand apart from any other establishment."
We're off the remainder of the week to enjoy lots some beer, wine, and alcohol turkey with friends and family, but we'll be back next week to fill readers in on whether we were transported back to Beacon Hill by stepping inside Commonwealth. And, of course, will report back on how the drinks stood against our strict series of cocktail tests. For now, we'll let slip that one bum local who passed by outside commented that the "building really spruced up this corner." It's usually a good sign when the homeless neighbors take notice, no?
Fremont East's newest bar is open Tuesday through Friday, 5 p.m. to close; noon to close on Saturday. Yes, you read that correctly. Closed on Sunday. And, also not the use of bar throughout: you won't find food in here. See you next week.
