Ice Skate On The Strip, Ski In The Mountains
Las Vegas may have all the fixin's for Thanksgiving, but with an expected high of 72 degrees for the holiday, it definitely won't feel like it. While the temperature may not reflect the time of year (outside of Vegas, anyway), folks can still enjoy two traditional winter activities while in Vegas -- ice skating and skiing.
The Venetian/Palazzo welcomed ice skating back to The Strip this past Sunday. Paying guests can take to the ice daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. through January 6. And, starting November 30, The Cosmopolitan will offer ice skating, too. Also, daily, but times will vary from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. through 11 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. And, yes, you'll need to pay here as well. Expect to fork over between $10 and $20 dollars at either resort, depending on what discounts you can score and whether you'll need to rent skates, too.
If skiing is more your thing, take a drive about an hour away from The Strip where there will be snow in them thar
hills mountains starting this weekend, Friday, November 23. That's when the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort will fire up the lifts. Single day tickets for adults will be priced at $50 for a full day. Skiers will find 30 trails, 14 of them which are new. Equipment rentals will also be available.
