The college football bowl season kicked off this weekend with an action-packed Gildan New Mexico Bowl which featured the University of Arizona vs. the University of Nevada (Reno).

Bowl season comes to Las Vegas this Saturday, December 22 with the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas. The MAACO Bowl Las Vegas will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium at 12:30 p.m. This will be a change since many previous Las Vegas Bowl's have taken place at night.

MAACO Bowl Las Vegas will feature a ranked Boise State team for the third straight year against a first-time visitor for the second consecutive season as the Broncos of the Mountain West Conference will play the University of Washington of the Pac-12 Conference. Boise State is currently ranked 19 in the BCS standings.

As the weekend approaches, expect to see plenty of fans wearing their respective teams colors (orange for Boise State and purple for Washington) throughout the casinos and sportsbooks. The game will be available to watch at sportsbooks and the current line for wagers has Boise State a 5.5 point favorite over Washington with a total of 46.5.

If you prefer to take in the game in person, it looks like it will be a beautiful day. Weather.com says we can expect temperatures in the mid-50s. Bee-U-T-Full!

Tickets for the 2012 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas are priced at $35, $45, $65 and $110 and can be reserved by phone at 1-866-388-3267 or 702-739-3267 or online maacobowllv.com.

Good Matchup

Really looking forward to this one. Two teams from the Northwest that are jump-starting a rivalry here (they meet to kick off the 2013 season as well). Boise St. is always exciting, but Washington has a coach that seems to find a way to surprise people.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In my book, temps in the mid-50's are COLD! I'll be enjoying it from my couch with a space heater reminding me what warmth feels like.
